Jamdani is a traditional handloom-woven cotton fabric, originally from Bengal and known for its fine muslin quality. After the partition, many Dhaka weavers moved to West Bengal, where Fulia became a hub for Jamdani weaving. This labour-intensive technique uses a supplementary weft to create intricate motifs, interlaced by hand into the warp with bamboo sticks. The result is a sheer fabric with patterns that seem to float on the surface. Traditionally made with cotton and gold threads, modern versions incorporate mixed materials. Jamdani remains one of the most intricate and time-consuming forms of handloom weaving.
We carry a curated range of Jamdani Dupattas. Stock changes often, and each piece is handmade and one-of-a-kind.
