This square-shaped wall hanging locally known as ‘Chakla’ meaning a cloth having four angles, is embroidered using Rabari embroidery. Chaklas are also used as ceremonial cloths or tablecloths.

The pastoral community of Rabaris engaged in embroidery practices in their free time. Nature and surroundings were major subjects of their motifs and designs as they depicted their nomadic lifestyle. Rabari Embroidery comprises colourful and heavily embellished geometric motifs like squares, triangles, circles, and diamonds. A mandala dominates the center surrounded by multicolored angular patterns.
