Quilts locally known as Dhabada is hand-made using the Sami work technique and are a warm thick bed covering kept in place by lines of running stitching. Running stitch is also addressed as Sami embroidery by some communities in Gujarat.
Sami embroidery is done by most of the community in Gujarat as it involves the basic running stitch. It is a simple needlework stitch consisting of a line of small uniform stitches that run back and forth through the cloth without overlapping. Running stitches are a component of many traditional embroidery styles, including Kantha embroidery.
