Kantha embroidery was originated with the thought to rescue old clothes and materials to turn them into something new. Kantha a type of embroidered quilt is a centuries-old Bengali art tradition and earlier it was done with soft dhotis and saris, using a simple running stitch on it. This Kantha quilt has a print design on it which gives it a contemporary look.
