Product Description:
This square-shaped wall hanging locally known as ‘Chakla’ meaning a cloth having four angles, is embroidered using Kathi embroidery. Chaklas are also used as ceremonial cloths or tablecloths.
Kathi Bharat done by Kathis, Mahajans, and Bania communities is considered to be one of the oldest forms of cloth embellishments. Geometric and floral patterns along with mirrors are heavily used in this embroidery. Linear long stitches and contrasting colours define the visual vocabulary of Kathi Bharat.
