Tangaliya Weaving is an extra weft technique practiced in the eastern Kachchh region, particularly in the villages of Adhoi and Bachau, as well as the Surendranagar district of Gujarat. This unique method involves meticulously wrapping extra weft threads around bundles of warp threads, creating a dot-like feature and a slightly raised texture. Patterns emerge from the geometric placement of these wrapped threads. Originally crafted from local wool for the Bharwad community of herders, Tangaliya has gained popularity among fashion and textile designers today.
