PANDAN, A BETEL NUT BOX IN THE SHAPED OF BETEL LEAF

The brass pandan box is intended to hold paan or betel leaf. The betel leaf shaped box has body flaring downward towards the base, the domed lid. The betel leaf is used to pour lime, tobacco and the nut and placed in the mouth that gives the user a mild aphrodisiac affect. The practice of chewing betel nut was popular all over Asia and is still a common practice in India and Myanmar.
