KALAM-DAVAT, INKWELL AND PENCASE
Origin: Rajasthan 19th century
Material: Brass
Inkwells from the ancient period have been preserved in glass, pottery, and brass, expressing celestial and royal symbolism. The brass ink-well somewhat resembles a shrine with its spire imitating the shikhara of a Hindu temple, whereas the long element at the back is the pen case and sometimes carved with beautiful design for decorative purpose.
