Handwoven in Banjara style embroidery, this multipurpose bag used either to carry/store stuff or to store jewellery. Sometimes it is also used to carry and store gifts given to a daughter during her wedding that she takes to her husband’s house.

Banjaras or the nomadic tribes have a distinctive embroidery style and designs are either geometric or angular which is influenced by many cultures and locality. The embroidery and motifs are highly influence by the nature and surroundings. The clothes are embroidered with elaborate bead work, mirror work, shells, ivory beads and colourful threads which create an altogether that reflects a sense of insouciant that is so characteristic of the Banjara’s.

The Banjaras are a tribe of north Indian origin, who moved south into the Deccan plateau and states like Rajasthan and Gujarat during the seventeenth century.
